The Story of Candiluna: Our Desire to Change the Candle Industry

Candles are more than just a source of light; they have the power to create a warm and inviting atmosphere within our homes and hearts. With their gentle flicker and soft glow, candles instantly transform the ambiance, making any space feel cozy and harmonious.

The Spark

I couldn't imagine where a seemingly ordinary request from my youngest daughter, Misha, would take me. You see, Misha’s company was organising an event, and she asked me to oversee the offloading of "several boxes" of pillar candles and glassware.

As the boxes, of which there were more than 70, were being unloaded from the van, I was met with a disheartening sound—the clunking of broken glass. You can imagine my horror when I realised that a significant portion of the candles had been damaged, and my daughter would have to cover all that loss.

Little did I know, that this would ignite a spark of inspiration within me that lead to the creation of Candiluna.

Addressing Waste, Cost, and Safety

Driven by my entrepreneurial spirit and curiosity, I delved into research.

Studying the history and scientific intricacies of candle wax production I quickly realised that problems with the product did not end with durability. Even more worrisome were the issues of safety, waste, and cost.

My determination led me to develop something I find truly revolutionary— a granulated vegetable wax with unimaginable features.

The discovery for our planet

After months of perseverance and collaboration with food processing companies in Europe, my team and I successfully formulated a granulated wax that possessed exceptional qualities.

This wax offered a long burn time, non-allergenic properties, and was entirely smokeless. Its safety features were equally remarkable, as it would self-smother if accidentally knocked over, reducing the risk of fire.

But the innovation didn't stop there. The granulated wax was also environmentally friendly, biodegradable, and made from sustainably sourced plant-based ingredients. My creation was a game-changer in the candle industry, and I couldn't contain my excitement for what the future held.
